Visions is open to all PCCC students. No prior journalism experience is required. We evaluate on reliability and follow-through, not skill.

How to Join — The Gauge

Every new writer completes three steps within three weeks of their first meeting.

Step 1 — Attend one meeting.
Your first meeting starts the three-week clock. The Editor-in-Chief will walk you through the publication, the sections, the commitment level, and what the Gauge process looks like.

Step 2 — Pitch one story.
Submit a pitch: the topic, why it matters to PCCC students, and who you would talk to. The section your pitch falls under is the section you are gauging for.

Step 3 — Submit one draft.
Write 300 to 600 words based on your approved pitch. The section editor will review it and return feedback.

Complete all three steps within three weeks and you are officially on staff. Miss any step without communicating and you self-select out.
